The Zlto essentials COVID-19 relief campaign has distributed over R11 million in support to families across South Africa.
This was done within 13 weeks which enabled more than 64 000 members on the platform to learn skills, do social impact tasks in their communities or micro-jobs to earn ZltoRewards. More than 800 000 tasks were performed by members in their community.
During this time RLabs and Zlto launched Nano Courses providing bite-sized learning modules. Zlto issued more than 450 000 nano certificates covering topics such as starting your small business, social innovation, job readiness and a range of other courses.
Through the use of digital food vouchers, we were able to disburse more than 2.85 million meals to more than 112 000 beneficiaries. We also provided access to electricity to over 23,000 households over the 12 week period.
As part of this campaign, we were able to invest over R3 million in cash and services to small businesses. More than 1 000 youth were able to earn a wage for micro-jobs performed on the Zlto platform.
Social impact tasks performed by Zlto members (such as community clean-ups, volunteering at NGO’s, Feeding Programmes, etc.) impacted more than 200 000 community beneficiaries.
During these 13 weeks, we also engaged more than 100000 members on the platform that generated just over 20 million views. Members would spend an average of 14 minutes on the Zlto platform per session.
This is all thanks to the support by JP Morgan, The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, ESquared South Africa, UNICEF SA, Development Bank of South Africa & RLabs.
