DLabs Offers HOPE Through Knowledge
Dear readers, Saturday the 27th was a day not to be missed as many Cape Town locals made their way to the Westridge DLab at 55 Boschendal Road, Westridge Mitchells Plain. The application day hosted 230 attendees, 160 of whom signed up for either RLabs Academy Short Courses or opportunities listed by RLabsU, Skills Accelerator, YOMA, and the Study Access Alliance.
An astounding feat for the 1st-semester intake. Hopefuls are encouraged to continue applying for the Skills Accelerator Programmes and the IU Bachelor Degree Programmes at either the Westridge DLab Space or the Vangate Space even if they have missed the application day.
A Project that has been running courses for more than 14 years, RLabs Academy, offers for their first semester, short courses for Design Essentials, Digi Women, Design my Brain for Business, and Web Publishing at the Westridge DLab Space. Courses made available in the Vangate space are Design thinking, Presentation basics, Computer basics, and Internet basics.
The collaboration with YOMA and Study Access Alliance brings forth a three-year online, globally recognised Bachelor’s Degree scholarships for financially disadvantaged students through IU- International University of Applied Sciences, Germany’s largest university. The scholarships cover programs in the fields of Data & IT, as well as Business & Management.
Skills Accelerator, with its various partnerships, hosts programs such as Grow with Google Scholarships, Amazon Discovery Day Bootcamp, as well as the Skills Accelerator Internship. All of which are valuable courses offering compact turnaround times for getting into specialised high-demand, tech-related career fields.
