Last week one our team members Angelo King attended the 8th International Conference on ICT for Development , Education and Training for three days in Namibia.
He had so much fun and felt that he received so many take-aways and really loved the interaction from attendees. Below is a few highlights about what transpired at the event.
In all African spirit the world unite at May 29 – 31 2013.
“We do things our way in Africa by the Africans for the Africans” – Dr Adele Botha echoed at the live debate on sustainability against innovation for education in Africa. The importance of how innovation has help created a culture of learning in Africa could not have been expressed more. At RLabs we understand the importance of innovation to build our communities.
AfriLabs used the opportunity to meet up with the Tec Hubs under their umbrella. One of the interesting topics we covered was why invest in Tec Hubs? The notes that come out of the workshop follows:
- Invest in our communities well being
- Create opportunities Eg: youth empowerment & job creation
- Do the ground work within our communities
- We have success stories
Co – creation is high on the agenda for the AfriLabs memberships and we as RLabs are very excited to be part of this adventure.
It was indeed a worth while event especially for the tech hubs. Angelo, your speech was so inspiring. It reflects the work done at RLabs.
Thank you very much
Brian I was really inspired by meeting everyone from the different hubs across Africa. You guys are all doing amazing work and together we can do so much more. I am very excited about our future as Tec Hubs!
