The Marshmallow Challenge is a remarkably fun and instructive design exercise that encourages teams to experience simple but profound lessons in collaboration, innovation and creativity. Students from the GROW Leadership Academy at RLabs, alongside with our guests from the London School of Economics took on the fun and exciting challenge.

The group of Entrepreneurship students were split up into teams of six, brainstorming and innovating to build the highest free-standing tower. Each tower was built using 20 sticks of spaghetti, one yard of tape, one yard of string and one marshmallow. The key rule is for the marshmallow to be on top of the tower. After being given only 45 minutes to plan and build, the GROW entrepreneurship students successfully completed the activity, resulting in a winning team with a free-standing 61cm spaghetti structure.

Using an incredibly fun activity such as the Marshmallow Challenge, the group of students will now use the same concepts of collaborating, innovating and prototyping as they continue to work on their Social business mode canvas and business ideas.
