The official RLabs Mozambique signing ceremony took place on the 30th of September in Maputo. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Science & Technology of Mozambique (MCT), and RLabs. Many representatives from Government, the public, business and STIFIMO (Science, Technology and Innovation between Finland and Mozambique) attended the ceremony.
The Mozambican government has identified innovation, science and technology as key drivers for Social and Economic change for its citizens and welcomed RLabs as a key partner and contributor to local change in Mozambique.
The ceremony was followed by a visit to Lionde, a rural community where more than 5000 people live, and where the first RLabs will be setup. Lionde is a Millenium Village in the Gaza Province, with agriculture being an important part of the local economy.
