Continuing striving to develop and empower our communities RLabs has partnered with Whizz ICT Centre in Khayelitsha that provides training to under-privileged learners and equip educators in one of the largest townships in South Africa.
Khayelitsha is a partially informal township in Western Cape, South Africa, located on the Cape Flats in the City of Cape Town. The name is Xhosa for New Home. It is reputed to be the largest and fastest growing township in South Africa with an estimated population of close to 2 Million residents. Majority of its residents still live in poverty impacted by various social ills.
It is therefore such a wonderful opportunity to partner with Whizz ICT Centre to ensure the development of people allowing for the opportunity to use innovation to address the social problems in this incredible landscape. RLabs have committed to do training with the lead team of Whizz ICT and they will also be using the RLabs and Mxit Reach mobile counselling platform to provide support to the community through the use of mobile phones. We will keep you updated as the training progresses and we see the change of a community one life at a time.
