Yanelisa Nogemane’s Story of HOPE

Our RLabs Champion, Yanelisa Nogemane, shares his Story Of HOPE as the Soccer Director of the United Brothers Football Club from Langa, highlighting how the club has grown from humble beginnings.

United Brothers Football Club is a community-driven initiative dedicated to motivating and uplifting young people in the Langa township. The club proudly supports over 187 boys and 38 girls.

Founded in 2019, just before the COVID-19 pandemic, the club recognized the importance of providing opportunities and positively impacting the lives of local youth. Since then, United Brothers has grown significantly, with their Under-18 boys’ team qualifying for The Coke Amateur Cup this year.

Most recently, the club received an invitation from the Eastern Cape-based community organization, Untshintsho Loluntu, to participate in their annual Cegcwane Sports Tournament, held from 5th to 6th October 2024. A group of 39 boys, accompanied by 11 officials, represented the club at the tournament.

Reflecting on the experience, Yanelisa said, “It was a life-changing opportunity and a stepping stone for our club’s growth. We didn’t know what to expect, but it was incredible to see the boys enjoying themselves, sharing hope, and playing football. They were so eager to be there, supporting each other and the other teams as well.”

He added, “This is just the beginning of many great opportunities to come. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to making this trip possible. Without your support, it wouldn’t have been achievable.”

“Through football, we are building a platform to share hope and bring positive change to our community.”
