Last week RLabs and the Western Cape Department of Social Development launched the 2nd Youth Cafe in the Western Cape, South Africa. The Youth Cafe is an initiative aimed at providing opportunities for young people aged 18 -25. The launch brought together more than 70 people who celebrated the official opening of the Vangate Youth Cafe.
Since the launch of the first Youth Cafe in Rocklands the following has been the impact of the cafes:
Registered 814 Young people through the Youth Cafes
A total of 6,521 attended training programmes through the Youth Cafe
More than 250 youth were able to find employment opportunities via the cafe
With access to opportunities, FREE Internet and creative spaces the Youth Cafes will continue to make HOPE contagious.
