Asnath Kambunga, 22 years old from Namibia, Windhoek is currently the full-time lead facilitator at RLabs in Namibia.
Kumbunga is employed full time by RLabs and is enjoying every moment of the experience. She says that it is something she thought she would never be able to do.
”When Marlon Parker approached me after the training [saying] that I would be full time facilitator, I was excited, stunned! Being in the experience, especially facing so many people and public speaking was my biggest fear”.
She inevitably overcame her fear and is now approaching business managers and CEOs of big corporations.
Asnath arrived in Cape Town at RLabs on the 9th June and she had the opportunity to interact with other facilitators at their strategic planning where they planned the activities for the rest of the year.
Her interest is working with people and learning about new technology as she is currently in her final year completing IT.
“I enjoy what I’m doing at RLabs. Namibia has a high unemployment rate. We train them Social Media and Entrepreneurship. Once the training is done they motivate other youth to get involved and get educated about technology. It is interesting knowing that I am part of a legacy, changing lives is what RLabs is all about.”
Kumbunga explains further.
“Cape Town is beautiful but the weather is strange because our rainfall is in summer whereas in Cape Town, the sun is shining then it starts raining. The people at RLabs are cheerful and energetic and definitely gave me a warm welcome.”
When asked what message she had for the youth, Kumbunga said,
“Never let your shyness put you down. Anything is possible if you put your mind to it.”
Congrats Asnath, wishing you all the best in your career.
