It was with lots of excitement that the RLabs team in partnership with the Western Cape Department of Social Development launched the first of its kind Youth Cafe in Rocklands Mitchells Plain. The opening had more than 400 people gathering at the event to hear more about the Youth Cafe and its purpose in bringing hope to youth in the local communities. The cafe will also be one of the first cashless cafes where you can only purchase goods and services using your virtual currency, Zlato, that have to be earned by doing good in your community, attending personal development workshops etc.
We are really proud of the young team who executed the project and to all the youth who contributed to make it a reality may the cafe be a celebration of you and a space where anything becomes possible. Below is some of the media coverage of the event yesterday:

This is an exciting and innovative initiative. Communicare opened its community learning centre in 2009 with the objective of providing internet connectivity to the youth with the aim of skills and job creation. We would like to link into this initiative and would like to have a conversation about partnerships.
HI Wasima. Great hearing from you. You can email us with more information at info@rlabs.org. Best wishes
