The African Management Initiative, supported by the Rockefeller Foundation, Amani Institute and I-DEV International, will be hosting two “Managing Impact Series”  workshops on the 1st and 3rd of October 2014 at the RLabs Hub in Bridgetown, Cape Town.

This series will consist of the following two topics:

  1. Designing for Impact: Innovating with communities.
  2. Financing Impact: Investment readiness for social enterprises.

The Design for Impact course was designed to make knowledge and practical tools accessible for social entrepreneurs, aspiring social entrepreneurs as well as those who manage social impact enterprises to understand how to start something new, aimed at solving a social problem, in a local community .

Core topics for Day 1 (Design for Impact – 1 October 2014):

  • Understanding the Problem
  • The Solution
  • The Strategy

The Financing Impact course was designed to prepare and to provide the specific knowledge and tools needed to ensure that the organization is ready to receive investments from impact investors.

Core topics for Day 2 (Financing Impact – 3 October 2014)

  • Are you ready for investment?
  • Identifying and approaching investors
  • Entering due diligence and closing the deal
